The University of Washington has gracefully lent us some students now and then to help give our ongoing projects a push. A few Saturdays ago we began experimentation with the repurposed petrol hoses that have been sorced as a part of the zero-waste research. This particular batch was filled with styrofoam concrete  and tied to the watchtower railing to give it a curvalinear form. The concrete is still curing, but it seems like the styrofoam concrete might be too light to give the hoses a rigid shape. The next step will be to try concrete with a mortar type mix, small agregate…
